SIARJA: Mixed Association for the Management and Maintenance of the La Juine River and Its Tributaries
After securing the access points and removing the existing decking, the new boardwalk was built with a width of 1.30 meters and a height of 30 centimeters above the ground.
To ensure smooth, even edges, the planks were pre-cut into a “fishtail” shape, creating a uniform pattern with consistent spacing and a neat, polished look. Safety along the path was ensured by two herringbone-patterned guide rails secured on each side with wood screws.
A 12-square-meter clearing has been created to serve as a viewing and resting spot along the trail.
SIARJA—in partnership with the municipality of Chalo-Saint-Mars—has been nominated for the transformation of André Bouniol Park as part of the competition for the 2025 National Urban Art Award, in the category “Living with Water—Recontextualizing the Development of Cities, Towns, and Villages.”
