Let’s restore rivers to their natural state for a green and blue future.

Bringing rivers back to life means doing justice to the natural world that sustains us.

At Jura Natura Services, we have mastered the art of river restoration, a technique that involves recreating a more natural course for waterways.

By recreating these forgotten meanders, we restore the watercourse’s natural rhythm—the one that slows, filters, and nourishes.

Aquatic ecosystems are returning to a state of balance, and biodiversity—long under threat—is being revitalized.

River meandering

What is it?

Over the past century, many waterways have been straightened, dredged, and channelized to create farmland. These changes have profoundly altered their natural functioning, degrading habitats and disrupting hydrological processes.

A river meandering restoration project involves recreating meanders along a straightened river course by excavating a new, winding channel and backfilling the old one.

The goal is to restore the river’s natural flow, slow down the water’s velocity, and reconnect the river to its wetlands.
